This patriotic luminary is inspired by the Amish barn stars. In the early 1700s the Amish immigrants brought with them the tradition of painting colorful geometric patterns on their barns. Among them, the star design was believed to bring good luck to farmers.

After the Civil War, barn stars were considered patriotic, and their popularity spread. In the early 1930s, artists began to craft the stars in metal as art pieces that farmers could purchase and hang on their homes and outbuildings. Today, large barn stars are common features in decorating both home and garden. We hope our StarStruck luminaries bring a bit of luck and Americana flair to your home décor.
